Stewart & Tate Completes Renovations to The Patriot Café at Normandie Ridge Senior Living Community

July 2, 2019 — Stewart & Tate Construction recently completed a project to renovate The Patriot Café, the bistro café space in the Manchester Commons area of the Normandie Ridge Senior Living Community. Work included demolition of an exterior wall and construction of approximately 1,000 SF of additional space. The new bistro café features Starbucks products, seating for about 70, a large see-through fireplace and a 600 SF patio with outdoor seating.

During construction, Stewart & Tate Construction worked alongside the owner’s food service vendor, Atlantic Culinary Environments, who managed the construction of the center serving area, including casework, countertops, and food service equipment.

Normandie Ridge Senior Living Community is owned and operated by Albright Care Services, a faith-based non-profit corporation that serves all of central Pennsylvania. Albright also owns and operates RiverWoods Senior Living Community in Lewisburg; Living Independence For Elders (LIFE) sites in Williamsport, Lebanon and Lancaster, and manages Warrior Run Manor, a HUD-approved housing complex in Watsontown. Project Underway at York Catholic High School

June 3, 2019 —York Catholic High School commemorated the start of construction on Phase I of its capital campaign project with a groundbreaking ceremony on May 29.

Stewart & Tate Construction of York will begin work on the project which will involve renovating two floors of classrooms and adding air conditioning to the school located at 601 East Springettsbury Avenue. Completion of this phase of the project is slated for the end of August.

Additional phases of the project to be completed in the future will encompass the addition of an elevator wing, upgrading the electrical service, and renovations to the cafeteria, chapel and multimedia spaces.

Stewart & Tate Awarded Contract for New Retail Project in Springettsbury Township

May 24, 2019 — Stewart & Tate Construction of York, PA, has been awarded a contract by Quattro Development LLC of Oak Brook, IL, for sitework and construction at the developer’s retail project on the east side of Mount Zion Road, between Concord Road and the Route 30 eastbound entrance.

Stewart & Tate will be performing sitework on Lot 2, including underground stormwater and utility improvements. A Burger King is planned for this lot. Sitework for Lot 3 will entail underground stormwater and utility improvements, light poles, curbs, sidewalk, paving and landscaping. A tenant has not yet been identified for this lot. For Lot 4, the company will provide sitework to include underground stormwater and utility improvements, light poles, curbs, sidewalk, paving and landscaping, and also the construction of a building which will be occupied by Mattress Warehouse.

Work is scheduled to begin this month, and projected completion is set for August.

Stewart & Tate Completes New Research and Innovation Center for Carlisle Construction Materials

May 10, 2019 —Stewart & Tate Construction recently completed a 42,000 SF Research and Innovation Center for Carlisle Construction Materials. The building replaces the current Tech Center Building and houses testing labs, support offices, and conference and collaboration spaces.

The structure was designed to add a second story over the front office area for future expansion. Stone veneer accent walls, curtain wall glazing and metal panels with curved canopies are featured on the exterior, lending a modern feel to the building. The interior finishes continue this theme with stained concrete floors, octagonal ceiling clouds and linear metal ceilings. The office space features glazed roof monitors that allow natural light into the area.

Carlisle Construction Materials is a worldwide manufacturer of roof membranes, roof insulation and wall vapor barrier materials which were used on this project.

Stewart & Tate to Build Fitness Studio in Gettysburg

April 22, 2019 — Stewart & Tate Construction has been awarded a contract for the construction and related sitework of a new exercise facility to be located at Proline Place in Straban Township, Gettysburg. The exterior of the 3,293 SF building, designed by KD3 Design Studio, will feature stone and board and batten siding in order to match the historical nature of the area. Sitework is scheduled to begin at the end of April, with construction to follow in May. The project should be finalized by August.

Owner, Incentives LLC, plans to rent the facility to providers who offer fitness programs, including Jazzercise, tai chi, yoga, and Brazilian jiu-jitsu/mixed martial arts.

Stewart & Tate Completes New Faulkner Nissan

March 29, 2019 — York, PA based-Stewart & Tate Construction recently wrapped up an 8-month construction project at Faulkner Nissan in Mechanicsburg one week ahead of schedule.

Work involved construction of a 28,300 SF two-story facility featuring a new showroom, sales, service and accounting areas, two (2) enclosed service reception lanes, five (5) service bays, and a customer lounge and café. The brand new facility meets Nissan Motor Company’s latest store architecture and design standards.

Located at 6627 Carlisle Pike in Silver Spring Township, the dealership now joins other Faulkner brands, such as Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Subaru and Volkswagen. The dealership had been temporarily operating at 6305 Carlisle Pike after its acquisition from the Brenner Family of Dealerships early in 2018. Inventory was moved on March 22, and the new location opened for business on March 23.

Other automotive industry-related projects recently completed by Stewart & Tate include construction of a new Toyota of York dealership in York, PA, and renovations to Faulkner Infiniti in Mechanicsburg, PA, Faulkner BMW in Lancaster, PA, and Apple Subaru in York, PA.

Faulkner is a family-owned automotive dealer group serving Central and Southeastern Pennsylvania, and currently encompasses 21 automobile franchises at 27 different retail locations in Mechanicsburg, Lancaster, Harrisburg, Trevose, Bethlehem, Philadelphia, Willow Grove and Jenkintown.

Stewart & Tate to Build New Dealership for Hoffman Ford

March 21, 2019 — Stewart & Tate Construction of York, PA has been selected to construct a new automobile dealership for Hoffman Ford located at 5200 Jonestown Road, Harrisburg.

The $3.9M project began in March and will involve demolition of the current showroom, customer and office areas. Stewart & Tate will construct a new showroom, (3) enclosed service reception lanes, a parts and accessories retail display area, enclosed vehicle delivery bays, a new customer lounge and customer café. The dealership will be built per Ford Motor Company’s Trustmark Standards. The service and collision bays will remain unchanged.

The dealership will remain open at its current location throughout the 8-month improvement project.

Stewart & Tate to Renovate a Portion of the Former Osram Sylvania Building for New Print-o-Stat Headquarters

March 15, 2019 — Stewart & Tate has been contracted to renovate 28,400 SF of the former Osram Sylvania building at 1128 Roosevelt Avenue, York, to house the new corporate headquarters of Print-O-Stat. The space will feature a showroom, offices, production area, Autodesk training center, conference rooms, lunch room and warehouse space. Construction started in late February 2019; completion and occupancy are targeted for July 2019.

For more than 60 years, Print-O-Stat has been the leading provider of products and services for a variety of businesses, including construction, architecture, engineering, manufacturing, design, and many others both large and small.

In 2017, building owner Stewart Properties revitalized the 190,000 SF former manufacturing facility to a multi-tenant, mixed-use facility which houses offices, warehouse and light production. Work performed by Stewart & Tate entailed demolition, interior and exterior renovations and the addition of an 8-bay loading dock area. Current tenants include UGPLAST, MatterHackers and The Wolf Organization.

Stewart & Tate to Build Patient First in Langhorne

February 4, 2019 — Stewart & Tate Construction of York, PA has been named general contractor on a new Patient First to be located at 100 Lincoln Highway, Fairless Hills, in Bucks County, PA.

The new 7,150-square-foot Patient First Neighborhood Medical Center will include staff offices, exam rooms, a waiting room, and on-site x-ray and lab testing capabilities. Work on the medical center is slated for completion in July 2019.

This project will be the sixth Patient First facility that Stewart & Tate has constructed.

Open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., 365 days a year, Patient First provides walk-in urgent care for routine injuries and illnesses and primary care for patients without a regular physician.

Madelyn LaMotte: 2018 Winner of the Richard D. Poole Scholarship

September 1, 2018 — Congratulations to Madelyn LaMotte, the 2018 winner of the Richard D. Poole Scholarship. This $1,000 scholarship is given by Stewart & Tate in honor of Rick Poole, the founder of Poole Construction, which is now Stewart & Tate Construction’s Building Group. This year marks the tenth consecutive year this scholarship has been offered, and we are proud to continue supporting this scholarship as a means to aid our employee families while honoring the legacy of Rick Poole.

Maddie is attending West Chester University, where she is studying sports medicine and enjoys helping others. Her dad, Mike, works for Stewart & Tate Construction’s Building Group.

The recipient of the annual scholarship is chosen through an essay contest by a panel of three judges. All high school seniors immediately related to a Stewart & Tate Construction, Lewis Contractors, or Riley Welding & Fabricating full-time employee who plan to further their education are eligible to enter.
